A year of the Alta Adventures newsletter

and what’s coming up next 🦘

Hello beautiful people,

India has been a complete sensory overload. Constant horns blaring, chai brewing, cows unbothered in the middle of hectic traffic. It’s chaotic, messy, loud, and alive. Nothing makes sense to my Western brain, yet they make it somehow work. I’ve been fondly calling it ‘organized chaos.’

In the middle of it all, I’ve somehow been able to find stillness and devote myself to my creativity. I went up north to the mountain village of Bir to paraglide, only to have the weather turn for three days straight. My plans were grounded, quite literally, and I had to release control. Once I did, the clouds parted, and the reason for my extended stay revealed itself through deepening connections and an unexpected chance to perform some of my poetry at an open mic night.

Now, I’m preparing for another big leap. One I’ve dreamed of for nearly a decade. In just two short weeks, I’ll be moving to Australia on a working holiday visa. Though I have no idea what’s next, I’m trusting the same rhythm of surrender that India has taught me.

In the spirit of creating within chaos, I’m opening up holiday commissions: custom paintings, pet portraits, and mala beads made with intention and love. If someone on your list has a favorite animal, place, food or drink, this is the perfect chance to gift them something beautiful and personal for their home or office. Below is an example of a custom piece I did for a friend’s dad and Old Fashioned lover.

If something calls to you, now’s the time to reach out and lets create a meaningful piece before the holidays.

And in case you missed it last month, my group trip with Travel Light is now live! I’m taking 14 people to explore the jungles and beaches of Thailand. You can check out the full itinerary and make your 25% deposit here.

Thank you for being here, especially as we celebrate the one-year anniversary of this newsletter.

I hope you can make someone smile today,
Holly x

Need a holiday gift idea? Why not give someone you love a custom art piece. Support independent artists like me, don’t support billionaire corporations.

It’s a win-win 😉
